We've Missed You Today!

Posted by: Unknown in

We hope you're feeling better! We've been hard at work today, and I wanted to give you a brief overview of what we've been doing. Please read on for more...

LANGUAGE: We reviewed the Wordly Wise Words for this week.  (Homework is parts A/B)

SPELLING WORDS:  Add these to your dictionary:
always
especially
laughed
myself
whole

FALL FUN:  We finished the fall leaves we painted and completed a book recommendation form to attach to it.  I'll save this for you when you come back.  They'll be hanging in the window. :)

MATH:  We practiced measuring to the inch, half-inch, and quarter-inch.  The worksheet will be sent home.  We completed the worksheet instead of the pages in the workbook.  Same work- different layout.  We also practiced our timed subtraction for the first time.  Phew!  It was much harder than addition.

READING:  I demonstrated how to complete the job of Character Captain.  You can see the power point below.  You will need to read chapters 9 and 10 and select two characters from the section to discuss.

YOu'll choose two characters to talk about.  For each one, you should select two descriptive words to describe how that person thinks, acts, or speaks during the two chapters.  For instance:

Brenna- Angry   Brenna was angry when she noticed the racing speedboat because it could potentially hurt a manatee.

SCIENCE:  For seatwork today, the students went back to the Build a Fish website to answer a few questions about how a fish's body helps it to eat and stay safe.  I sent the questions home with your brother. :)

We also visited the library today.  How are you doing with your Buccaneer Book?

HANDWRITING:  We completed the two pages on the letter "h".

We do hope you are feeling better and that you'll be in school tomorrow.  It's not the same without you!
